Questioning bulletin board

Questioning bulletin board

In Karen Caroscio Allen's third-grade class, a question on the whiteboard asks students to consider the question, "How does questioning help me understand the text?" Teaching students to ask questions about a text as they read gets them into the habit of inquiry and critical thinking. As they ask questions, Mrs. Caroscio Allen's students are encouraged to draw on prior knowledge, to consider where they might find answers to questions that remain unaddressed, and to reflect on how questioning supports learning and comprehension.
