Winding Knob	W Haywood County on the E end of Balsam Ridge.
Winding Stair Branch	W Haywood County in Great Smoky Mountains National Park, rises near lat. 35°38'13" N., long. 83°02'55" W., and flows NW into Cataloochee Creek.
Winding Stair Gap	at the head of Poplar Cove Branch in SW Macon County.
Winding Stairs	section of road in NW Macon County between Queens Creek and the Macon-Swain county line; winds about 5 mi. down a ½ mi. drop and gives the appearance of winding stairs. Present road laid out about 1923 along a pioneer or Indian trail that, before the Civil War, was sometimes referred to as the Cat's Stairs.
Windingstair Knob	NW Burke County. Alt. 3,473.
Windmill Point	extends from W Carteret County into White Oak River. Named for the fact that a wind-powered gristmill was once operated there. Also known as Hatchell's Point for Armistead Hatchell, who settled there in the eighteenth century.
