Powells Pointtip of the peninsula of S Currituck County in Albemarle Sound. Appears in local records as early as 1665 and on the Ogilby map, 1671. The community (and post office, est. 1818) of Powells Point is 6½ mi. n.
Powellsvilletown in N central Bertie County. Post office est. 1879; inc. 1887. Named for a local family and originally known as Powell's Crossroads. Alt. 67.
