Yanu Ridge	N Swain County in Great Smoky Mountains National Park, a short spur extending SE from Welch Ridge with its center near lat. 35°32' N., long. 83°34'40" W.
Yarbro	community in NE Caswell County. Named for Capt. Joseph Yarbrough, superintendent of ammunition manufacturing in Salisbury during the Civil War. A post office operated there, 1887-1904.
Yarnall Knob	S Watauga County N of Goldmine Branch. Alt. approx. 3,900.
Yates Cove	central Haywood County between Fincher Mountain and McElroy Cove.

Yates Mountain	W Wilkes County, extends from E to W between North and South Prongs Lewis Fork Creek.
Yates Top	S Cherokee County S of Shingle Top and between Cane, Martin, and Moccasin Creeks.
Yaupon Beach	town in SE Brunswick County. Inc. 1955. Named for a species of holly that grows in the area.
Yaupon Creek	a bay in E Pamlico County in the waters of Bay River.
Yawpim	appears on the Moseley map, 1733, as a community in E Pasquotank Precinct, now Camden County, on North River. The name survives elsewhere as Yeopim, which see.
