Ray Knob	N Buncombe County between Horse Gap and Vance Knob.
Ray's Branch	rises in NE Wake County near the Franklin County line and flows S into Neuse River.
Ray's Mill Creek	rises at the town of Southern Pines in S Moore County and flows SW into Aberdeen Creek at the town of Aberdeen.
Raymond Island	off of W side of Currituck Banks in Currituck Sound S of South Channel, NE Currituck County.
Raymond's Creek	rises in S Camden County and flows SW into Pasquotank River. Named for William Raymond, who was granted land bordering the creek on February 25, 1696. Earlier called Fleming's Creek for George Fleming, who owned a small tract along the creek and died there in 1694.
Rayner Millpond	W Wayne County on a tributary of Beaverdam Creek.
Raynham	community in S Robeson County. Alt. 125. Settled about 1884. Named for the parish in Norfolk, England, from which the local Townsend family had migrated.
Raynor	community in S Franklin County.
Raynor Pond	on Mingo Swamp in SW Johnston County and E Harnett County.
Raynor Swamp	rises in S Gates County and flows NW to join Harrell Swamp and Duke Swamp in forming Bennetts Creek. Recorded as Meherrin Swamp in eighteenth-century land grants and deeds.
