Statue of a Hindu god in Muktinath, Nepal

This is a statue of the Hindu god Vishnu in his Narasimha avatar. An avatar is an incarnation of a god in some other physical or spiritual form. Hindu gods have many avatars. Narasimha means half-human and half-lion, and he is thought of as the "great protector."
