Fletcher

community in N Henderson County. Alt. 2,112. Named for Dr. George W. Fletcher, popular country doctor and surgeon during the Civil War. Est. about 1883 after the railroad was completed. With the development of Fletcher, Shufordsville, approx. 2 mi. n, declined, and the post office there was transferred to Fletcher and the name changed. Produced textiles.
