rises in W Swain County and flows SE into Tuckasegee River.

Jenny Lind

community in W Lenoir County. Named for the Swedish singer (1820-87), who, according to local legend, once sang beneath a tree there.

rises in central Perquimans County and flows N into Raccoon Creek.

community in central Transylvania County served by post office, 1890-1901.

Jericho

community in S Caswell County. A post office operated there, 1904-17.

Jericho

community in S Davie County near the head of Baxter Creek. Named for the Jericho Church of Christ, est. there in 1872. A post office that operated there, 1900-1902, was known as Kurfees.

Jericho

former community in SE Wayne County on the N side of Neuse River from Seven Springs (then Whitehall). Destroyed by Union forces during the Battle of Whitehall on December 16, 1862. Site now included in the corporate limits of Seven Springs, which see.

Jericho Run

rises in E Lenoir County and flows NE into Stonyton Creek. The name appears in local records as early as the 1740s.
