Type of Speech:

Solid fragments of inorganic (not composed of living organisms) or organic (composed of living organisms) material that come from the weathering of rock and are carried and deposited by wind, water, or ice; sediments may also be formed from chemical, biochemical, or biological materials (such as minerals formed by the evaporation of sea water, sea shells, or plant remains). Sediments are usually dominated by minerals but they may also contain biological remains (fossils). Sediments may later become compacted, cemented and variously altered to form sedimentary rocks, for example sand becoming sandstone.
