What kinds of things did your mother do? Did she ever have to help your dad out in the fields? Did she work in the fields at all?

No, she just worked in the home. She didn’t work in the field. She never done any public work. No. I had a mighty good mother, though, really good. She was a good clean Christian woman. So were my father. So I’m proud of my father and mother, of a generation from way back yonder. And my grandfather was a preacher, and my other grandfather was a real good man. So I’m really proud of my descendants way back yonder, what I know of them I had.
