Public Square, Asheville

This 1888 photograph depicts the public square with the Buck Hotel can be seen in the background at left. Ashville during the late 19th century was growing as you can see by the carts, people in the streets, and businesses in the background. By the turn of the 20th century (1890-1920) Ashville was booming.
