Colonial house in Ecuador moutain valley

Colonial house in Ecuador moutain valley

A small red-tile roofed colonial-style house is nestled on a lush green hillside. Lofty peaks make up the background.

This photo was taken near Otavalo, Ecuador, which is home to one of Latin America’s most famous markets. A key product in the highlands of Ecuador is Alpaca, made from the coats of llamas. Perhaps this house is a shepherd’s hut used by Andean Indians to watch over their flock of llamas.
