The Death Zone

Ciprian "Chip" Popoviciu shows his altimeter to the camera. It reads 26070. He is now in the "Death Zone" since he is over 26,000 feet or 8,000 meters. 210 climbers and sherpas have perished on Mount Everest. Climbers can only endure this altitude for a few days. Chip is inside his yellow tent and uses an oxygen mask because the air is so thin at such high altitudes.
