Tunnel into Kagbeni village, Nepal

Tunnel into Kagbeni village, Nepal

A tunnel gate to the village of Kaagbeni. When the salt trade route was in operation, Kaagbeni was fortified with walls and tunnels like this one. Salt is no longer transported along the route, and the village is now a popular tourist and pilgrimage destination.
