Woman with pole trap catches snails in wet-rice field

A woman with a strainer trap at the end of a bamboo pole removes snails and dragon fly pupae that she has caught in the shallow water of a wet-rice field. The long bamboo pole is split into three prongs at the end, which are attached to the strainer. A brick house is visible in the background. The woman wears a wrapped sarong skirt and a striped tailored shirt.Balinese are experts at maximizing food sources from their rice fields and controlling the ecology for good plant growth and pest control.
