S Carteret County in Bogue Sound between Morehead City and Sugar Loaf Island.

E New Hanover County W of Wrightsville Beach.

Harbor Island

NE Carteret County in Core Sound midway between Chainshot Island and Wainwright Island. Appears on the Moseley map, 1733. Once horseshoe-shaped, but storms have caused erosion, and much of it is now washed away. The site of fishermen's huts and anchorage. See also Hunting Quarter Sound.
