community in SW Nash County.

Union Mills

community in N Rutherford County. Est. 1892. Inc. 1907; charter repealed 1924. Named for the consolidation of several small sawmills in the period 1885-90.

Union Ridge

community in N Alamance County. Named for an old church that stood on the ridge there between Tom's Creek and Jordan Creek.

community in E Orange County on Southern Railway approx. 9 mi. N of Chapel Hill; a former rail station serving the University of North Carolina. Railroad name for the station is Glenn. Alt. 471.

University Lake

on Morgan Creek in S Orange County. Formed 1932 as a municipal water supply for Chapel Hill-Carrboro. Covers 219 acres; max. depth 30 ft.
